Supportive Housing

About Fisher House

Fisher House is the first of Hartwood Hub’s “havens for women”.  This beautiful old Queenslander, originally built in 1904, has recently been lovingly renovated and restored. What was once a simply furnished and dilapidated 21 room student accommodation/boarding house with one ensuite sized bathroom, four separate toilets and four shower cubicles scattered over two isolated levels, has been completely transformed with some creative design work and an outstanding building team. The most significant changes include the introduction of seven full bathrooms and two powder rooms, as well as the installation of an internal staircase, to create a connection between the two levels of the home for the first time. Set on a large 837m2, fully fenced and gated block of land, Fisher House is perfectly located only minutes from Brisbane’s CBD with access to public transport on its doorstep.
