At Hartwood Hub, we believe that educational and support programs are important. Therefore, we plan to build a Learning Hub where women can get support with a variety of tasks and skills, such as learning to access necessary resources to successfully manage their affairs and provide awareness of online courses that can assist with preparing to return to work, or by teaching them how to write a resume and how to prepare for a job interview.
Once established, the Learning Hub will operate as a day centre where both residents of Fisher House and non-residents can access the classes and programs for a nominal fee. This will enable us to extend our reach, and provide help to many more women than our residents only. Hartwood Hub’s Learning Hub will become a place of support, education and most importantly, give women a much-needed sense of belonging and community.
